Happy Sunday!

The S&P 500 has taken a slight breather this past week, dipping approximately -0.22% and Nasdaq up 0.2%

Middle‑East tension and a monster “triple‑witching” options expiry kept volatility high, but the Fed’s mid‑week rate hold (with a side order of “maybe we cut later”) helped mute the drama—Powell essentially told traders to hold your roll until September.

Economically, flash PMIs and jobless claims still point to lukewarm expansion, yet enough soft spots remain for pundits to mutter “soft landing” without blushing (much). Lots of uncertainty coming the next 2-4 months. I expect there to be several buying opportunities (dips) coming in the next 2 months. And I’m preparing for it now. I expect Defense stocks to have some strong momentum this week. I’ll ride what I have, but I’m not going to chase after it.

Looking ahead: Micron (AI chips), Nike (sneaker margins), and Carnival (buffet economics) report this week—aka the only time you’ll see silicon, shoelaces, and shrimp cocktails in the same earnings watchlist.

👍 We are 3 weeks out from Moving to the suburbs of Minneapolis, and we had tornadoes and hail all around us this weekend. It was a stressful couple of nights. My thoughts and prayers go out to those that didn’t survive, or lost everything.
